Mr. Thompson founded North Star to continue serving the country in a cutting-edge industry and contribute to maintaining its competitive advantage and principles.

He is a results-driven entrepreneur with more than three decades of federal government experience, providing executive leadership for complex enterprises comprised of more than 9,000 people and fiscal responsibility for an annual operating budget of more than $280 million and $400 million in total obligation authority.

Both a strategic leader and a practical problem solver, he brings deep relationships across political-military circles and within the Beltway, along with a commitment to understanding customer needs and helping achieve their goals.

A former Navy Captain, Mr. Thompson held command and leadership roles in the highly specialized and technical fields of Explosive Ordnance Disposal, Diving and Salvage, Navy Expeditionary Combat, Security and Force Protection, and Mine Countermeasures. His background includes assignments to various tactical, maritime, and joint operations centers, where he served as a watch floor and network operator. This hands-on experience gives him direct insight into the systems his company now procures and installs.

His portfolio also included planning, programming, budgeting, and oversight of numerous contracts for facilities, construction projects, logistics, C6ISR systems, and security infrastructure projects.
