Command and Control Centers
North Star installs Command and Control centers as mission-critical, centralized hubs integrated with data centers through a combination of robust physical infrastructure, advanced audiovisual (AV) technology, and software-defined networking, ensuring 24/7 monitoring and real-time operational awareness. Installation begins with designing an ergonomic, secure environment featuring video walls, high-resolution screens, and workstations, often supported by one or more specialized integrators to fuse data into a Common Operational Picture (COP) or Common Tactical Picture (CTP) for effective situational awareness. Integration is achieved by connecting data center IT infrastructure—such as servers, storage, and networking hardware—to the control center’s management systems, often utilizing Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools to unify facilities and IT monitoring into a “single pane of glass”. Furthermore, integration platforms use APIs, middleware, and IoT connectivity to normalize diverse data streams from building systems (power, cooling) and cyber assets into actionable intelligence, ensuring unified visibility and rapid response to critical events.
